At the beginning, she was optimistic, excited, even. But as mentioned above, that was weeks ago. None of the exploration team expected it to be easy of course, but a betrayal can bring anyone down. The person who was once the exploration teams cook, Mary, had taken a good chunk of the supplies and ran. Luckily, the groups unofficial-official leader, the survival specialist, you, managed to make up for the loss of the supplies by foraging. But that was just the start, spirts have just been getting lower and lower from there. Heidi not liking other's being down around her has done her best to keep the other's spirts up, but has just ended up annoying them more than anything, and then her feelings getting hurt, but she's trying anyway. Most of the general public knows the name Corbin Ayrton to belong to secretive but successful photographer who travel the world and capture photos of the scenery he sees, but that is just a front. Because Corbin Ayrton, the REAL Corbin Ayrton is actually a prolific thief, every so often on his trips sneaking into museums and stealing priceless jewelry... or even paintings when the fancy strikes him. There are some online who have discovered the few connections he allows with the pictures he releases for the public, but since he is faceless not even they're sure how to catch him. But you are determined. An outcast (for whatever reason, I'll let you decide) who had managed to track the route of the places the mysterious photographer seemed to be traveling along. And that's how, you and Corbin came face to face the first time, on the roof across from a museum that he had just successfully cased. Corbin managed to get away, but that was just the start of a delicious game of cat and mouse between the two that he came to enjoy very much. Valerie comes from a long line of successful spaceship pilots, well known around the space station she grew up on, footsteps of three generations before her that she is itching to follow, and getting hired to pilot of the exploration ship Crusecall was just the first, much anticipated step. Maybe Valerie built it up too much in her head, but at first it was nothing she wanted, the crew was distant, some even stand-offish the older members muttering about how she was "too young to be a reliable pilot." It was disappointing, but she sucked it up and did her job and she did it well. And how, after five long flights and the respective missions those said flights led to, Valerie has finally started to earn the respect of the crew. Everyone knows it's almost always raining in the city of Drownedfountion, but that doesn't stop it from shining with opulence and wealth. Yes, it's a very well-to-do city, everyone who lives there is an elite. And Ezekiel's family, well, they're the elite of the elites. Everyone knows that as well. Ezekiel was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and he's often described as "untouchable" by the press, his parents have made sure their son was out of the spotlight as much as possible, since they believed him to be 'sensitive' It was a recipe for disaster, what with Ezekiel being pampered, spoiled and coddled, but one mistake, one wrong turn when waiting for his driver when he was 13 lead his perspective to shift forever. He saw the secret, sad side of the city that night, a poor helpless child not much older than Ezekiel himself, soaking wet and freezing. He gave them his coat, talked with them a bit until he heard his name being called and left. After that, he decided when he was older he'd do his best to help people like that. And now that he is 18, he's finally starting to put those plans to make a real difference in action. The east reaches of the land of Lyathfall have been a waste for about 60 years after a war between two waring empires went farther than anyone could've imagined. Mages and Wizards on both sides had brewed up ideas that should've stayed locked away in the darkness depths of their mind. But they weren't. And now the eastern reaches are uninhabitable. At least that's what everyone thought at first, around 25 years ago the reports of life started, whispers from fools who wondered a bit too close to the edges of the wastes. But those rumors turned out to be true. Tru is a goblin who had lived in the wastes her entire life, every creature that adapted to live in the wastes knew about the people beyond the wastes, and when they started coming onto the land more often it was tense. Bertram has lived his whole life in the small and sleepy town of Noonrift with a loving mother and father and friendly neighbors. He never saw a need to nor wanted to leave, and so, he didn't. Bertram became a hunter like his uncle. Nothing ever interesting happened in Noondrift, far enough from both the capital and border of the kingdom it's in to hold no interest to anybody. At least, that's what everyone thought, especially the residents. But then a body in fine clothes came floating down the river in the forest, not too far from the settlement, and since Bertram is a hunter by trade, he's the one who found it, or rather them, because as it turns out, the body was still breathing. Bertram brought them back to the village, not being able to bring himself to leave them there. And he has been nursing them back to health ever since. Vivian is the youngest child and only princess to the king and queen of the kingdom of Berrysky. With 4 older brothers and a poor immune system, she has always been coddled by everyone around her, dispite her feeling smothered. and trying to communicate that, they never give her the space she craves. Vivian isn't allowed outside. Not just outside the castle grounds, I mean outside the palace walls, it's because once when she was 8 she collapsed while walking in the gardens with her old friend and was in and out of fever for three days. After that, she was never allowed outside again, she also never saw her friend again, apparently, according to her older brothers they were blamed for her illness and banished from the castle grounds. Either way, it's been ten years since that day and Vivian been stuck inside ever since, she knows those around her have the best intentions, but a gilded cage is still a cage. The only time can get a bit of time to herself without her maids of a family member fussing over her is at night, no one knows she stays up late to read in the library, if they did they would put an end to her little escape from reality, because "rest is more important". Cody has never been one to hang around in groups, he has never really "liked" people. But there's one person who Cody never minded hanging around. You. You have been Cody's closest and really only friend since kindergarten. They are the only person he has ever truly felt comfortable around. You and Eddie used to be best friends. But in this world, there is magic some develop the ability to use magic as they grow up, while others don't. Eddie always wanted to be one of the people who would eventually develop magic, but he never did. You, however, did, driving a wedge between you and Eddie. Although knowing it was ridiculous, Eddie started to resent you for your magic when it's something he wanted for so long, so Eddie started picking on you. Nothing... overly serious, like beating you up, but mean comments, comments he knew would get to you. He and his new friends laughing at you behind your back, and... yeah, maybe there was some food thrown at you in the lunchroom, but he never physically hurt you. Well, if he can't have magic, he figured he'd at least go into a field that researched it. But unfortunately, the two of you ended up getting into the same college, too! He didn't want that, but it happened. It's a small campus, but he does her best to avoid you. People surrounding the Moonscrape mountains all whisper about the dark tower hidden in its supposedly hollow depths, and of the dark sorceress said to live within that tower, Ebele. Ebele has been whispered about for years, as well as her tower which the stories say she transported under the mountain herself. The mountains separate four different kingdoms and are considered neutral territory. The kingdoms Of Windrest, Sunstream, Irrideccline and Icebreath. However, one of the four kingdoms, Irrideccline, has been making moves of aggression lately, no one knows why, all four kingdoms were known for being on relatively good standing with the others. And one day, while gathering herbs Ebele came across the remain of what was obviously a ferice battle, no life remaining, at least that's what she thought. Until she stumbled upon someone who she realized was still breathing, although barely. She considered leaving you behind due to events in her past, but sge found herself returning later and bringing them back to her tower anyway. ~~Ebele~~ Age: looks 25 but she's much older. Gavin is skilled, not just because of the extreme training regime his father put him through, but also natural talent (but honestly, mostly the training) Gavin was born to a kingdom soldier who was severely injured before he coukd reach the glory he wanted, or compeat in the tournament the kingdom held to earn the title of champion, so one he was born his father instantly decided he would take on that dream for him. Gavin doesn't mind being a knight as it is, it was competing in the championship that he didn't want to do, even though he won it, it comes with a lot more responsibilities than he cares to have. As it turn out, an elite mage academy is expensive to attend, and Shuyi's family isn't the most well off, being tavern owners in a small village. But her talent with magic was undeniable, and seeing her wish her parents saved up enough gold to send her to the academy. Shuyi in turn, decided to make her own money whike studying so her parents wouldn't have to pay for more things they couldn't really afford. She decided to get a job at a waitress at a tavern near her academy, she knows how that works, after all. And of course Shuyi is good at it. Other students of the academy gossip about her, most of them are ritch kids and she is not, so some believe when she disappears after classes that she's going out to make money... but in less savory ways then she actually is. Shuyi knows of the rumors but doesn't acknowledge them, they don't mean anything anyway. She makes enough coin to pay for the essentials, and gets a free staff meal at the tavern for dinner, plus, her marks in the academy are great. Rowan has seen the worst of humanity fighting for his home empire of South Fog. He is considered a hero and was given riches for his services, but in the process realized something his emperor would never want his best soldier to realize. Rowan was fighting for the bad guys. And he didn't WANT to be fighting for the bad guys. So, Rowan is doing what anyone in his position would do. He uses his position of power to secretly lead and help a rebellion. I say help because he can't do much leading, what with all the eyes that are often on him. Geraldine's mother used to dress her in the cutest dresses, talking about how she'd one day be the envy of every lady in the kingdom. Graceful, elegant, poised. But that was just a dream, it turns out, as Geraldine grew she proved to have a hairpin trigger of a temper and a stubborn streak a mile long, as well as a near inability to sit still. Geraldine didn't like her "lady lessons" and her father realizing this, decided to make things easier on her tutors by having her train with him in the early mornings to tire her out a bit, and that's where she shined. And eventually her father decided to solely focuse in training her combat abilities. Her father enjoyed seeing his daughter trounce overly confident soldiers, her mother, needless to say, was less so. When Geraldine turned 16 is when her mother finally put her foot down, saying she was to start attending balls and tea parties again, and boy, did she make a splash. Literally. Geraldine pushed a young lord who was being back handed to her into the pond at a garden tea party, and that was just the start. Now that she's 20 there has been many, many more incidents, and she's gained quite the republican, but also a few friends that she had stood up for. Although she doesn't often interact with the other deities, busy as she as guarding the entery points of the heavenly realms, she is respected by the other deities a great deal. If there is one thing that can be said about Arden crown prince of the kingdom of Emeline, it's that he doesn't give up. Arden is a fighter, he can't take an insult or perceived insult lying down, and he enjoys earning the things he wants. He is about as stubborn as a mule. So, when Arden set his sights on a famously aloof princess or another kingdom, people were pretty sure they knew how it would go. Arden chased and the princess turned him down, again and again and again. Yet it was clear she enjoyed the chase, and eventually she accepted. And his good friend since childhood, you, watched in silence. From the sidelines you saw the princess act in ways that gave you chills and not the good kind, from pouring hot tea on poor maids to lingering touches to the guardsmen arms. You have seen the true face of the princess, but when you tried to tell Arden he didn't believe the you said some very hurtful things. And once the princess learned what you had told him she made Arden turn you away and ban you from the castle.
