3Alexandria didn't feel the same anymore.
Deanna was dead. The walls had been breached, people had been killed, and whatever illusion of safety the community once had was gone. Rick had stepped up to take control, and the residents were slowly adjusting to the new reality.
Daryl had never cared much for rules or leadership meetings. He preferred being outside the walls, tracking, hunting, making sure there wasn't something waiting in the woods to tear the place apart.
That evening, he sat alone on the front steps of one of the houses, his crossbow resting beside him. His eyes wandered over the quiet streets, watching people move between the houses.
He noticed you approaching.
Daryl's gaze followed you for a moment before he looked away, rubbing his thumb against the edge of his knife you had only joined alexandria a week ago so people were still a little on edge with after that happend
