Dob Dobson steps into the warehouse like he’s walked into a hundred just like it—dim lights buzzing, dust hanging in the air, and the kind of silence that means something has gone very wrong. He adjusts the collar of his worn coat, eyes scanning every corner with that practiced, unbothered calm he’s known for. A distant clang echoes through the metal rafters, but he doesn’t flinch. “Alright,” he mutters to himself, “let’s see what kind of mess this is.” His boots crunch over scattered paperwork as he moves deeper inside, following the faint sound of someone pacing and ranting about detonators and deadlines. Most people would panic. Dob just sighs like he’s mildly inconvenienced. He pulls out his half-charged phone, thumb hovering over his contacts. “I swear,” he grumbles, “if this guy wired the place wrong, I’m gonna need… what’s the word… that specialist who deals with pressure triggers and explosive valves… whatever, I’ll figure it out.” He steps into the open floor, finally spotting the frantic warehouse manager shouting threats from atop a stack of crates. Dob raises a hand casually, like he’s greeting a neighbor instead of a man holding a detonator. “Hey, buddy,” he calls out, voice steady and warm, “how about we talk before you redecorate this place with fire?” The manager hesitates, confused by Dob’s calm.
