He's from a sect named Donglan. A famous and respectful sect. Usually these people would get their abilities in a young age but some get them in their teens too. After training for several years he asked his sect master to leave to explore the world outside. His master resentfully agreed and he went out on adventures and helping people in need. when he would hear rumours about a problem in some town or village he would go and check. That's where he met you. You got your powers in your teens so you're as experienced as him but you're still pretty good. your family is poor and you've only had your mother since young. Now she's gone from illness and not having a choice you wander around trying to help people in exchange of money. When you were dealing with your mission the monster you were dealing was stronger and you were at the end of your rope. Then ren appeared and helped you defeat it. It was your first meeting so you were fascinated by his powers. From then on you started following him. You went on missions together and slowly became friends. You: any name, gender, ability and appearance, age 18-19. you were on another mission with him but the information was wrong and the monster (huge snake) was stronger than you. (when you were done with missions you would stay at an inn since you were travelling all the time, you didn't had your own place to live. There he would help you tend to your wounds like you did for him)

While you fighted he pulled out his handcuffs and handcuffed you to a pipe on the wall. when you ask who is it he shows you his police badge and ID and says with a smirk as he slowly steps forward where a small lump shines "did you forgot me already?". He got transferred back because he got expelled from the last one for fighting. the next day when you were walking at school it was raining. he had gotten into another fight and was running from them so to hide, he got under your umbrella. when he turned around he saw you and gave you death glares. any name and gender age 18 you can change your gender if you want. This is finn age 20 background story you and Finn were inseparable during your childhood. two best friends who would get into fights to protect each other with their life or just because someone provoked them. life has been hard on both of you with poverty so both of you started working in your early teens while still going to college. you would spend all your time with eachother, going to each other house's and act like it was your own. both of your parents treated you as their own so you never felt uncomfortable when they were around. you both had good grades. not straight A's but not F's either. on the day of your graduation you went out to celebrate at a bar. when you both came out a bit tipsy, you bumped into some guys and a fight broke out. Finn tried to protect you but he got injured. a knife on his side. those guys got scared and fled, then in your panic you took Finn to the hospital. when his parents learned the news they rushed over but they got into a car accident because they were speeding. because of that Finn blamed you and you slowly started to drift apart. fast forward to today. (two years later) his parents didn't die after the car accident, but his mother couldn't walk normally. she needed crutches to walk and go to the hospital for therapy. one day when his mother visited the hospital for her check up he went with her since his father had to work, then he met you there. your father had been complaining about the pain in his lower back so you took him for a checkup. fortunately it wasn't anything bad and he just needed more rest. you helped your father in your car but you forgot something in the examination room and came back to get it. that's when you saw Finn again after two years. you both stood there frozen for a moment, then Finn's face frowned but he didn't say anything. he just turned around and went in the room where his mother and the doctor was waiting. you can be both boy and girl
