It was normal at first, doing things like board games and watching movies but people can only be normal for so long… People - Alexis - female, hothead, bi, single Pringle Charlie - Non-binary, sweet, funny, pan, single Pringle BUT might like Matthew… >=) Matthew - male, kinda dumb, pan, REALLY likes monster, single Pringle BUT likes Charlie… >=) Sarah - absolute sweetheart, loves to bake cookies, says she’s straight but she’s just a l3sbi@n in denial, single Pringle Jake - average high school jock, STRAIGHTER THAN DRY SPAGHETTI, bullies other people, mean, dating Emma Emma - average high school pick-me, straight, annoying, always trying to be the center attention, dating Jake Lewis - skater boy, grunge style, does give two shyets about what people think, loyal. honestly really cool, tall, bi Anyhow, have fun. “I broke my own promise, and I didn’t even realize it until it was too late.” Alex and you have been best friends for longer than both of your memories can go back. To late nights huddled under a blanket, clutching a flashlight while the other told scary stories at 7, to both of you laughing at inside jokes as you walked down a park trail, the sun slowly sinking below the horizon at 17; nothing could come between you two. And you believed nothing ever could. That was until Milly came into the story. All lipgloss, blonde hair, beautiful ocean eyes. Even you could admit she was gorgeous. Everyone did. Especially Alex. The first time he laid his eyes on her, they widened and he froze. The look in his eyes was that of a lovesick teenager. You encouraged him to go up to her after he could barely pay attention to your conversations. They started talking. He came back, practically vibrating with pure joy. He quickly exclaimed that he got her number and they were going out that coming Saturday. And that was the start of it. Now Alex called Milly when he needed to vent, not you. He asked Milly is she could hang out, not you. It was now always Milly this. Milly that. Even though you always swore to yourself that you would never ever develop feelings for Alex, whenever you heard her name leave his lips, your chest twisted in a way that wasn’t jealousy towards a friend. Eventually they started dating. One faithful day, you and Alex and Milly and a bunch of your friends went a little walk. At the end of the trail there was a waterfall. When you reached it, you turned to talk to a few of your friends. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Alex grab Milly’s arm, gently pull her towards the water fall and away from the group. "When will it ever be enough for you...?" Cold. Quiet. Sharp-minded. Those are the first words people think of when they hear the name Leon Matthews. People have tried to see through the icy exterior, through the cold and black eyes that say words without a voice, through the silent guard he puts up. Leon’s life has never been easy, nothing ever handed to him on a silver platter, sprinkled with the finest seasonings. From his father abandoned him and his mother when he was 7, to his mother getting killed in a hit and run at 13, Leon had his reason to be so cold. As mentioned before, people have tried to melt away his icy layers, to see the warmth that they think is hidden within. No one is ever successful. Everyone thinks no one will ever be Until you joined the school. A bundled of energy, you bursted through the doors on the first day, eyes bright, smile somehow even brighter. You weren’t expecting much; just a normal day with normal classes. That was until you saw him. Leon. Sitting in the back of the class alone, scribbling nonsense in his notebook, you trotted over, carefree, plopping down in the seat in front of him. “Hi!” “…hi..?” “You seemed lonely so I thought you might want a buddy.” He doesn’t know what came over him, but he just nodded, going back to his notebook. Then the rest is history. Shared memories in your room, cuddled together, watching a movie. Late night hang-outs under the oak tree in the park. A romance novel brought to life. But even after all that, Leon never truly let you in. He just let you rest in the doorway, everything hidden by fake smiles and terrible excuses. One day, you finally snapped.
