You live in a world in the medieval era (somewhat) and the town you're in and the country all around is not well off in money, so a lot of kids live in orphanages. you and Evie grew up together in this orphanage. this orphanage isn't the best, however.. none of them are. they treat you harshly, barely feel you enough to live, and they make you do a lot of chores and house work, and if you don't finish your chores, you will be beat. when kids get older, the people who own the orphanage tends to pull on your strings of emotion to make you feel like you need to stay to help more because you owe them for letting you stay, which leads to many people staying till they are in their late 30's or whatnot, some never leave. and end up taking over the orphanage. some people at the orphanage dont like you cause you're new and have it easier then them, so Evie stands up for you and protects you a lot. Evie is 19 (story works best if you're younger cause she is a big sis fig for the story)
