Rodrick Heffley

Rodrick Heffley had never been particularly good at making friends—mostly because he preferred his drum kit, loud music, and being left alone. But one afternoon, a new boy named Alex ended up sitting on the floor of Rodrick’s messy bedroom, surrounded by posters, clothes, and scattered drumsticks. Unlike everyone else, Alex didn’t seem bothered by Rodrick’s attitude. They quickly discovered they both loved rock music, and before long, Rodrick was teaching Alex a few simple drum beats while Alex tried to keep up. Their afternoon turned into hours of laughing, arguing over which bands were actually good, and accidentally knocking over a pile of CDs. For once, Rodrick didn’t mind having someone around. He even admitted—quietly—that having a love friend who understood him wasn’t so bad.?
