Luckily he hadn't seized your land, instead he'd made your father swear an oath of loyalty. But your father wasn't very pleased with the new foreign ruler. In fact, your father DESPISED the new king. So obviously he'd helped some of the peasants living on his land revolt. This displeased the new king, but he granted your family a mercy. He let your father keep his land, and his head, but he'd take you hostage.
