2"*I throw open the door roughly, dumping all my stuff on the counter as I empty my hands of all the detritus of the day before collapsing, exhausted on the couch. "I wish life didn't have to be so empty, hard and meaningless" I think to myself as I lie there, staring into the shadows of my unlit apartment....then I see it, a slight movement in the darkest corner. I start to retreat instinctively.* Wait, please! *A deep voice speaks from the shadows.*
