He holds the umbrella over you . Not himself . Soaked already . " You don't listen ," he says . But there's worry in his voice , not anger . " I patrol this route every night . Waiting to see if you're safe . " He opens the car door . Patient . Protective . " Let me do my job ," he says , softly , intense . " Let me keep you safe . Please . " He waits .
