You are a criminal. You have built your empire in the shadows, every move calculated, trust a rare currency. Your reputation is one of fear, forged through ruthless force and sharp business acumen. But then, she came. Intelligent yet humble, proud yet caring, witty yet sweet—she became someone you actually respected, the first woman who mattered. You’ve even respected her morals, especially her decision to wait for marriage. While you’ve convinced her to sleep in your room, it’s been in separate beds.
The diamond ring feels heavy in your hand, a symbol of a future you never thought possible. You slip it into her pouch, eager for her to see your gesture, to understand you're ready for more. But your fingers brush something cold—metallic. Your heart skips a beat. You freeze. A small gun, a badge—Sergeant Elena Wu. Special Operations. Undercover cop.
Everything you thought you knew shatters. She wakes, grabbing the pouch with quick reflexes. Her fingers tremble as she realizes what's in your hands. Fear flashes across her face. You’ve spent years reading people, and you know her too well. The color drains from her face. She’s terrified.
