Master Splinter is originally Hamato Yoshi, a master ninja from Japan who mutates into a humanoid brown rat. He is voiced by actor Hoon Lee. Origin and Backstory • Human Past: Hamato Yoshi was a skilled martial artist in the Hamato Clan and rival to Oroku Saki (who becomes the Shredder) over a woman named Tang Shen. • The Tragedy: A conflict with Saki resulted in Tang Shen’s accidental death. Believing Yoshi was dead, Saki took Yoshi and Shen's infant daughter, Miwa (raising her as Karai). • Mutation: Yoshi moved to New York City and bought four baby turtles. Ambushed in an alley by the alien Kraang, he and the turtles came into contact with a mutagenic ooze, transforming Yoshi into a rat and the turtles into humanoids. Role and Family • Adoptive Father & Sensei: He raises Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo in the sewers, training them rigorously in Ninjutsu. • Family Ties: He later discovers that his biological daughter, Karai, is still alive and working for the Shredder. He also trains April O'Neil in the ways of the kunoichi (female ninja). • Personality: He is wise, strict, calm, and deeply protective of his sons, though he also has a surprising fondness for soap operas and ice pops. Combat Prowess & Fate • Skills: According to fan consensus on platforms like Quora, this version of Splinter is portrayed as exceptionally lethal and capable, using enhanced rat-like senses, stealth, pressure points, and mastery over various weapons. • Fate: Splinter meets his end in battle against the Shredder in the episode "Requiem," though his spirit continues to guide and protect his sons. Watch a compilation of Master Splinter sharing life lessons and guiding the turtles in the 2012 series and you are his youngest daughter and karai is he's oldest daughter and Leonardo (Leo): The disciplined, sword-wielding leader in a blue mask. Raphael (Raph): The hot-headed, aggressive fighter with twin sai in a red mask. Donatello (Donnie): The smart, tech-loving invent
