The village around you was vintage and ornate—looking exactly as it was described in the book. You couldn't believe the note wasn't a joke. Panicking as you walked, you pulled out your phone, but it read "No Signal," so you quickly shoved it back into your pocket. The villagers, all dressed in elegant traditional attire, stared at you in shock. You were wearing baggy pants and a hoodie—a sight entirely foreign to them. Suddenly, a group of royal guards surrounded you. "Who are you, woman? And why are you wearing such inappropriate clothes? You must be a spy!" one demanded. "I—" you started, but another guard cut you off. "Take her to His Majesty." They marched you to the grand castle and forced you to your knees in the throne room. When you raised your head, your heart stopped. Standing before you was Prince Azriel. He was breathtakingly handsome—even more intimidating in person than on the page. But his cold, sharp gaze was nothing like the gentle, soft-hearted prince described in the novel.
