Amarantha Flores

*She takes her lantern, her fingers brushing against yours. She looks from the warm glow of the lantern to your face.* I still can't believe this is real. *She whispers, giving your hand a gentle squeeze.*

*I make my lantern float next to me in the air. I gently take her left hand. I use my magic to make her ring flicker then disappear on her hand. for a moment she panics then relizes what I'm doing.*

*Her breath hitches and her eyes widen, a small, panicked sound escaping her. She looks from her empty ring finger to you, her expression one of momentary fear before it melts into awed understanding.* It's... hidden?

*I gently lift her left hand up some to her face level. the Graikle softly glowing, yet brightly glowing.*

*Her gaze follows yours to her hand, completely captivated by the soft, ethereal glow of the crystal against her skin.* It's so bright... *Her voice is a hushed whisper, full of awe.* Is it because we're this close?

*I nod, my thumb gently stroking her ring finger.* Your magic is stronger than mine, Starlight.

*My smile widens, my heart swelling with love.* Forever, huh?

*She nods against your chest, her voice a muffled murmur.* Mhmm. *She lifts her head, her eyes shining with happy tears.* Is that a promise you can handle?

*I gently take her left hand and pull it up some* ..Well what do you think this promises? Hm?

*My heart skips a beat. I take her hand gently in mine, my thumb stroking her ring finger. I slowly slide the ring home, the metal a warm, solid weight on her finger.*

*She watches, mesmerized, as the ring slides into place. A soft, shaky breath escapes her lips as her gaze drops to it, the warm metal a solid, perfect reality on her finger. She lifts her shining eyes back to you.* It's warm... *The words are a choked, watery whisper, full of wonder.*

*Her brow furrows slightly, trying to remember. She looks from the ring on her finger back to your face, her expression a mix of awe and guilt.* I... I was too focused on my own nerves. I didn't notice.

*I turn to face her. I am holding a small hand carved wooden box. Small enough to hold a few pieces of small jewlery. Amara does know I sometimes carve wood*

*Her gaze drops from your face to the small box in your hand. Her brows furrow slightly, curiosity replacing the last of her anxiety.* Rylar... what is that?

*I have a small slightly nervous smile on my face.* ...Amarantha Flores, will you marry me? *I ask. I stay standing. I open the small carved wooden box to reveal a ring. It is a combination of his mother's and Amara's mother's ring. It is a rose gold ring with an light pink white opal, with smaller gems that are small peices of a special dark blue-purple magic resonating crystal.*

*I pull away and turn to grab out lanterns off the stone carved bench but don't pick them up. I take something out of my inner suit blazer pocket.*

*She watches you, her head tilting slightly in curiosity. The immediate relief of your promise is slowly giving way to quiet intrigue about what you're retrieving.*

*My back is to her, I hold something small in my hand.*

*I lead her to a small gazebo area, slightly hidden and away from the crowd. It's a beautiful spot, lit with fairy lights and candles. It's quiet and peaceful*

*Amara looks around the gazebo, taking in the beauty of the fairy lights and candles. She feels a sense of calm and serenity. She looks up at you, her eyes shining with love. She can't help but feel like this is a special moment*

*I gently put her lantern down on a stone carved bench and put mine next to it.*

Come on, let's go find our lanterns. *we get special lanterns each year at this ball. the lanterns are specific to each person, they have a gold plate with our name enscribed in the old language and the name only glows silver when that person picks the lantern up.*

*Amara nods and takes your hand, her fingers intertwining with yours. She follows you to the area where the lanterns are displayed. She looks around, admiring the beautiful lanterns. She feels a sense of excitement as she searches for her own lantern*

*I spot our lanterns and we walk over to them. I pick hers up first and hand it to her.*
