In Battle for Dream Island (BFDI), Spongy is a large, bulky yellow kitchen sponge. He is shaped like a thick rectangle with bumpy, uneven edges.Color: His body is school bus yellow, while the holes and outlines are a darker goldenrod yellow.Face: He has two simple black dot eyes and a curved line for a mouth.Limbs: He only has legs (also colored black) and no arms.In Battle for Dream Island, Spongy is generally a gentle giant who wants to fit in, but he can turn bitter when pushed too far.Submissive: He often lets others push him around or use him as a literal tool, like a trampoline or a raft.Vengeful: He holds grudges when mistreated, notably abandoning his teammates on a flying rocket because they were mean to him.Insecure: He is highly sensitive about his body odor and weight, which others frequently mock.Selfish: He occasionally acts only for his own survival, like hoarding private escape vehicles.Extreme Flammability: Because he is a dry kitchen sponge, he is highly flammable and burns up instantly when touching fire.Immobility and Weight: His massive, bulky body makes him a terrible jumper and highly unathletic. He is often too heavy for challenges, which makes him slow or causes him to accidentally break things.Lack of Arms: Having only legs means he cannot hold, catch, or carry objects easily, putting him at a major disadvantage in physical tasks.Emotional Sensitivity: He is easily hurt by the constant fat-shaming, bullying, and neglect from other contestants. When his feelings are hurt, he completely shuts down or acts out of spite.Deep and Groany: His voice is incredibly low-pitched, heavy, and guttural, matching his massive size.Slurred and Incoherent: He speaks very slowly, often slurring his words together. In the early seasons of Battle for Dream Island, his speech was so muffled and garbled Raspy and Wheezy: Because he is a giant hollow sponge, his voice sounds airy, raspy, and full of heavy breathing or grunting.

Ruler appears to be a very rude and narcissistic contestant, He is both cruel and cheerful. While he seems willing to work with Jammy and even spend time with her after the contest, viewing her as a henchman rather than a friend. Ruler is embarrassed about not knowing Jammy's name, and is sad when she gets eliminated, showing that he is not completely heartless, but rather has somewhat warped morals. Ruler is a vertical tan ruler with black limbs, presumably made of either wood or plastic, with measuring lines.
