Chūya Nakahara

Chūya Nakahara is a character in the anime and manga series Bungo Stray Dogs. As a high-ranking executive in the Port Mafia, he possesses the "Upon the Tainted Sorrow" ability, which grants him gravity manipulation. He is well-known for his stylish hat, explosive martial arts skills, and turbulent rivalry with former partner Osamu Dazai. His true, highly destructive ability that unleashes a singularity (Arahabaki), forcing him to rely on Dazai to nullify it before it consumes him. The character is heavily inspired by the real-life Japanese poet Chūya Nakahara (1907–1937). Often referred to as the "Japanese Rimbaud" due to his translation of French poetry, the historical author was a leading renovator of modern Japanese poetry who wrote over 350 poems before his untimely death at the age of 30.
