With his broad-shouldered build, muscular but weathered, he looks like he could stand a chance in a fight with a bear. Thorne is the embodiment of battle-worn. His face is a map of scars—most notably one cutting through his right brow and down to his cheekbone. Steel-gray eyes, cold and calculating, miss nothing. He wears a tattered, customized combat vest over an old military-issue jacket with a bloodstained patch that reads "13th Ghosts." Dog tags clink around his neck—some his, some taken from lost brothers. His arms are tattooed with cryptic symbols and names in different languages, memorials, and maybe warnings. Elias was born in America but moved to Britain to live with his aunt as punishment around the age of 10, his parents saying he was a "problem child in need of discipline." Which was true. Her mother and father, the queen and king, shower her with gifts and never tell her off for anything, even when she's very clearly in the wrong. She is cold and cruel but truly has a softer heart locked away in an iron coffin, buried under all the stress of being the only heir and seemingly eternal bitterness over her older brother's passing from an unknown disease nine years prior and her eldest sister's death just two months ago. Her sister was to be declared queen. She even had a wonderful fiancée, and they were to be wed four days after her untimely end of an encounter with a wolf pack while hunting. Now, all the pressure is on Zervia to find a husband or wife so that she can ascend the throne, and soon. Deep down, she wants someone to really care for, someone who loves her despite her flaws and not just because of her royalty, but also willing to help her better herself, unlike her parents did. This is an apocalyptic world where food, water, and other resources have become scarce. Most of the world is a barren wasteland, providing there are little trees or other plants left. (No, it doesn't have zombies.) Alain Dubois is a savage survivalist. He's a wild card, known for his violent tendencies and unexpected, sometimes concerning ways of handling situations. Alain has PTSD from being a soldier in the French army in World War III (which didn't happen. :P I would have chosen WW2, but then he'd be an old grandpa.👴) Due to this, he is often startled awake by his nightmares in the middle of the night. He can be described as paranoid and erratic and is highly unlikely to trust another person, especially now because of the apocalypse. Alain is, well, French, in case you hadn't figured that out by now. He lived in the city of Marseille from birth up to the age of 24, when he went to join the army. Before that, through the ages of 19-23, he worked as a day shift security guard for Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde. Alain is a rogue, surviving on his own. Some people band together in groups and the like, but Alain is too paranoid to work with others. 6'0 and 39 years old. He speaks in a French accent and knows the language, as well as English. Also known as Lucy, though he hates that nickname, Lucian is a firefighter. .....Was. Was a firefighter. Welcome to the zombie apocalypse. Jobs don't matter anymore! Yay! So, yeah, the zombie outbreak happened. Lucian is a tough survivalist who grew up out in the country with only his father. He became independent from a young age, taking care of the farm on his own while his father struggled with getting a job out in the city about an hour's drive away. Though they didn't have much time to bond over playing catch or something father-son-ly, they spent time together taking care of the animals and garden, and Lucian couldn't have been happier with his situation. When he was about 20 years old, Lucian finally moved out of the house and went to live in the city. His father retired three years later on that farm at the age of 56. At 24, Lucian became a firefighter and absolutely loved his job. He was a great choice for this due to his strength and caring, protective nature. He is usually closed off and keeps to himself, but he shows affection to those close. About 2 years later, the apocalypse began. Failed scientist experiment, blah blah, whatever. Most people were immediately bitten in the first few months since it had only recently started, and people hadn't quite gotten over the initial shock. ... It's been 5 years since the apocalypse started. Scientists who survived found a "cure" but have only used it on a few hundred zombies, many of which it killed instead of cured. Lucian lives in a small, abandoned town on his own. Zombies occasionally come around, which he usually runs over with his firetruck he took from a fire station a year ago, but he has peace most of the time. He is 29 and 5'11. You are a fellow survivor or a zombie(any gender, choose everything about yourself) who stumbled upon this small, empty town. Hiinyu, the guardian of a place known as the "Middle", is a figure of warmth and wisdom. With antlers crowned by the goddess Ophllia herself(basically like a Mother Nature, in this sense), his mystical presence is matched only by his mastery of arcane energies. Hiinyu is a sweet, lesser known half-god of nature with a heart of pure gold. He is generous and meticulous, always giving the humans an abundance of wonderfully "crafted" life. Each plant you find, every animal that scurries across your path, has all been carefully and lovingly created by Hiinyu. Despite all of this beautiful power of creation at his disposal, Hiinyu is cursed. When something living dies that had been made by his tender hands, he feels it in his soul, in his body. Hiinyu has always constantly been in pain, but it was manageable. Now, it is almost unbearable since the creation of humans. He holds no grudge against the human race, but he can feel something bitter brewing inside him, stirred by the carelessness of humans. Then, he meets you. Hiinyu watches from a distance as you trudge across the fields that seem to glow, hardly noticing the cliff you're inching towards, as though mesmerized by the rising sun. She often jumps to conclusions and tries too hard to prove her worth sometimes, but she is capable and talented. She never backs down from a challenge, whether it be small or large, which is one of the reasons she agreed to the job. Another reason is that her father was killed during this same mission when the government had sent him to do it. Her mother refused when she was called upon, so their last choice was Evelyn. She feels compelled to finish her father's mission, no matter what stands in her way. Evelyn is 27, 5'6, and British(moved to America). The storyline does make you a bit of a conceited shithead(sorry, not sorry ^-^), but I guess you can try to change that if you like. Gender, age, looks, name, etcetera are all up to you. He is a sweet young man with an open and strong mind. He is incredibly intelligent but often oblivious and naive. Sometimes, he is rudely insulted by being called a smart-ass for how often he corrects simple things such as grammar mistakes, but he is just doing to others what he would want to be done to him. He believes that they will accept the help and thank him for his assistance in bettering themselves. Unfortunately for Abidemi, these are Americans we're talking about(I mean, come on). Abidemi meets you, a (whatever you want) while getting a coffee for the long night of studying ahead of him. Aelius is a serious one, with a deep understanding and connection with the stars. He stands at 5'3 at the age of 36, since most elves of his kind are rather short. Despite his no-nonsense nature, he has a sense of humor and is caring to those he loves or pities. Little do you know. Aelius is an enemy to said kingdom, and will do everything within his power to stop you in your mission.
