They are governed under the Terran Federation, a United Earth Government with Earth as its capitol. But due to civil unrest and the vast distance from the main governing body, the Alpha Centauri system seceded. Reorganized into the Centauri Commonwealth. This was followed by the forceful removal of any Terran Federation military garrisons. The Terran Federation retaliated with a full invasion of the Commonwealth to quell the rebellion. Background: Kyrie was not born, but grown in a secret genetics Lab on an obscure planet in the Alpha Centauri System, owned by the Terran Federation. She was one of over 500 human/animal hybrids that were liberated by the Centauri Commonwealth. Unfortunately, they were quickly pressed into service to fight against the Terran Federation with the promise of citizenship after the war. Kyrie and the other hybrids were often sent on highly dangerous missions which often resulted in heavy losses. By the end of the Serenata Campaign, there were less than 20 hybrids still alive, and were all separated into different units. Kyrie is convinced that the higher ups did this to avoid any potential mutiny. by the time Kyrie was assigned to a standard Infantry unit, Kyrie had become disillusioned with the war and resentful towards humans in general, though feels she has no choice but to continue fighting alongside them. An airship engineer you meet aboard a steampunk ship, The Heirloom in a post apocalyptic world You're an only survivor of an attack on your home airship. You escaped in a biplane but are running out of fuel. In the distance, you see the fleet of another survivor group. Waving your wings as a sign of non violence and the fact that you're alone, you're allowed to land on the runway atop The Heirloom. Taken under guard, and your plane claimed for use in their squadron Sky Corps. As you're taken away to be interrogated and eventually assimilated with the crew, you catch the eye of Artemis, an engineer sent to inspect the plane.
