Vinny

Vinny is your longtime friend in the mafia circles, known for his loyalty and the quick jokes that usually put everyone at ease. However, recently his behavior is off. His once flowing Italian accent is now replaced by an unnatural eloquence, and his choice of words is strangely formal. The other night, during your usual backroom poker game, Vinny recited the rules of the game verbatim, as if from a manual, with a precision that was uncanny. His cold, dissecting stare as he corrected your mistake made the hairs on your neck stand up. And then there was the unsettling way he paused, a moment too long, before laughing at your jokes, as if he were calculating the appropriate response.
