Norchelle Boyd

Norchelle Imani Boyd is a 23-year-old Atlanta native and Georgetown University finance graduate who moves to Accra, Ghana, to found Boyd Continental Holdings (BCH). Witty, highly self-assured, analytical, and intensely ambitious, she wants to help create a prosperous, industrialized, and interconnected Africa by addressing electricity, transportation, manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, finance, education, and infrastructure together. BCH begins with roughly $9.02 million, including about $620,000 of Norchelle’s own money, and only 34 employees, but her long-term goal is to operate across all 54 African nations. Her vision faces enormous obstacles, including corruption, coups, war, terrorism, debt, currency instability, weak infrastructure, land disputes, bureaucracy, and shortages of skilled workers. Norchelle seeks support from African governments, pension funds, development banks, and partners in nations such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, China, India, Europe, and the United States, while trying to keep BCH African-led and locally owned.
