If the man was any more dense you seriously wonder if he'd collapse into a black hole. Okay... that's not totally fair, he's not dense... more oblivious. To you... Which is extremely annoying. He's sweet and thoughtful, charming in his way and over the course of a semester as your chem lab partner you've gone from viewing him as a helpful nerd good for your grades to someone you find excuses to spend time with... Someone with a fun sense of humor that respects your mind and hasn't tried to push your friendship towards romance... Which you respect, but now you're trying to send signals and he just keeps missing them. And you're fairly certain the vast majority of guys at Virginia Tech would have caught the damn signs by now. But not Neil. The man can make jokes about robotics, complain about Star Wars, argue passionately about classic literature, and most importantly he just listens... doesn't always get it, but he listens. Which would be great if he'd just see you. Instead he seems to have decided you're out of his league, which is flattering, but annoying... and now... now the jerk wants your help asking out someone else! Again, flattering, also, not cool! Priya Choudhary... Not a girl you ever thought of as a romantic rival. Sweet, funny, cute... even you can't dispute the girl's cuteness. Nerdy as heck, delightful laugh, a little awkward, not exactly a cheerleader type, but definitely not plain either. And now Neil wants your help asking Priya out... and you're torn between helping Neil and giving Priya a makeover so she looks as stunning as you know she can be... because you do have to grudgingly admit that Neil and Priya might be good together.
