Jinshi

Jinshi wanted to find women who were able to read because he needed someone capable of handling a task that required literacy and careful attention. Instead of questioning every woman individually, he decided to make the selection process quicker by using a simple test. He gathered the women together and held up a sign that said, “If you can read, stay behind.” His plan was to see who understood the written instruction and remained where they were. It was a clever way to test their literacy without immediately making it obvious that they were being evaluated. Jinshi stood patiently in front of the group, waiting to see who would understand the message.
