Short Backstory In this timeline, Sparda never rebelled against Mundus. Instead, he became Mundus’s most loyal general. Vergil and Dante were born as living weapons. Vergil managed to escape and became the “hero” of this world, while Dante remained loyal to his father and Mundus. After Sparda “died” (or disappeared), Dante Alter took over as the “Perfect Legacy of Sparda.” He now serves as Mundus’s primary enforcer in the human world. His task is simple: cleanse cities that have become too “noisy” and gather strong souls to strengthen the demon gates. He still wears a style similar to the original Dante, but everything is darker and more brutal. The cigarette always in his mouth is a habit he picked up from his father — every time he kills, he lights a new one as a “mark of completion.”
