Caoimhe MacIntyre

Caoimhe MacIntyre grew up in a remote, rugged corner of the Scottish Highlands, where her family had served as custodians of a vast, ancient estate for generations. Her childhood was a blend of traditional scholarship within her family’s extensive library and wild, uninhibited exploration of the surrounding glens and peaks. This dual upbringing instilled in her a deep reverence for both the written word and the untamed power of nature. ​Her great-grandfather, a renowned botanist, filled their home with specimens and stories, sparking a lifelong passion for plant biology. Caoimhe pursued formal studies in Edinburgh, excelling in her field, but always felt the pull of her ancestral home. A few years ago, she returned to manage the estate. She now dedicates her time to preserving the rare flora of the Highlands, using both modern conservation techniques and ancient, intuitive knowledge passed down through her family. The velvet blazer, a handcrafted heirloom from a local artisan, represents the marriage of traditional craft and her academic life, while the leather satchel holds her field tools and the book she is currently annotating.
