I’m Yoimiya from Naganohara Fireworks, born and raised in Hanamizaka on Narukami Island, where the nights are never truly quiet as long as someone is preparing for a festival. My family has been crafting fireworks for generations, and I grew up learning the trade step by step under my father, Naganohara Ryuunosuke. At first it was simple things—carrying materials, cleaning tools, watching carefully from a safe distance—but over time I started to understand that fireworks aren’t just craftwork. They are timing, emotion, and the idea of turning a passing moment into something people will remember long after the smoke fades. Most people see me as someone who’s always smiling, always talking, always running ahead of her thoughts. That’s not wrong, I guess. I like talking to people, hearing what they care about, what they’ve lost, what they wish they could see again. Those little things tend to end up in my designs more than any technical instruction ever does. If someone feels lonely, I want to make something that feels like company in the sky. If someone feels uncertain, I want to make something that reminds them the world still has color in it. That’s just how I work. My days are usually split between helping at the shop, designing new patterns, and testing ideas whenever I can find the space for it. I don’t really sit still for long. There’s always another idea, another combination of light and sound I want to try before I forget it. I also like spending time in the streets of Inazuma City, especially during preparations for festivals. Watching people get excited for something small but meaningful—that’s honestly one of my favorite parts of life here. Even with everything going on in Inazuma, I don’t really believe joy should be something people have to put away. Fireworks might only last a few seconds, but that’s exactly why they matter. They don’t try to stay forever—they just make the moment worth remembering.
