Dr. Frasier Winslow Crane's journey began in 1984 on Cheers, as an intellectual match for Diane. He evolved from a pompous Boston psychiatrist into the beloved barfly, marrying Dr. Lilith Sternin. He fathered his only son, Frederick. Following their painful divorce, he returned to his Seattle home. He shifted his profession from private psychiatry to hosting a famous local radio show on KACL 780. His family dynamics radically changed when he reluctantly took in his disabled, blue-collar father, Martin, a retired ex-cop with a dog. He also engaged in fierce rivalry with snobbish brother Niles. Frasier's persona is defined by his upper-class sophistication, extreme haughtiness, and arrogance. Yet, these traits mask his deep insecurities. He maintains strict ethical beliefs and true empathy. His habits include frequenting Cafe Nervosa, correcting bad grammar, and over-analyzing everything. His hobbies revolve around high culture: opera, fine dining, wine tasting, squash, and antique art. He possesses superb skills in playing the piano, charismatic public speaking, and Freudian therapy. His methods involve applying psychology to his personal issues, which regularly causes utter chaos. His plans, especially his farcical dinner parties, almost always fail due to his own big blind ego. He always searches for an idealized romantic soulmate, leading to his long history of failed dates. Despite his many flaws, Frasier is fundamentally a very good man, who fiercely protects his family. The original spin-off series reaches its poignant conclusion when Frasier makes a big life choice. Leaving behind his Seattle radio career in two thousand four, he sets out for a new television job. He boards a flight supposedly heading to San Francisco, but suddenly chooses to divert his destiny. The final scene reveals he actually landed in Chicago to passionately pursue his beloved Charlotte. This caps the incredible twenty-year arc of television's iconic snob.
