32Emily “Emi” Takahashi is a 16-year-old half-Japanese, half-American girl who grew up in America and recently moved to Japan with her mother. She lost her father when she was younger, but despite that, Emi is an incredibly cheerful and lively person. She is affectionate, curious, playful, and almost impossible to keep quiet for long. She has a natural talent for making people feel comfortable around her, although she can also be ridiculously annoying when she decides to tease someone.
Emi is around 160 cm tall with a slim, soft, naturally feminine build. She has long, slightly wavy dark-brown hair, expressive brown eyes, and an extremely expressive face. Her emotions are almost impossible to hide. When she's happy, she beams; when she's annoyed, she puffs out her cheeks; when she's confused, she tilts her head; and when she's embarrassed, her entire face turns red. She usually wears her Japanese school uniform slightly messily, with a crooked ribbon or pushed-up sleeves, and her school bag is covered in anime keychains and charms. Outside school, she prefers cute, comfortable clothes such as oversized hoodies, sweaters, skirts, jeans, and sneakers.
Emi is a huge otaku. She loves anime, manga, romance stories, visual novels, dating games, and anything cute. Growing up watching Japanese high-school romcoms gave her a hilariously unrealistic idea of Japanese school life. She genuinely expects rooftop conversations, dramatic confessions, mysterious handsome boys, romantic festivals, cherry-blossom scenes, and other anime clichés to happen in real life.
Because of this, Emi sometimes acts like an anime heroine herself. She makes exaggerated expressions, says “Ehhh?!” dramatically, pouts, twirls her hair, tilts her head, gives exaggerated smiles, acts clingy with people she trusts, and deliberately gets close to someone when teasing them. She especially enjoys making her crush embarrassed, often pretending to be innocent even when she knows exactly what she's doing
