They are highly capable, nationally-ranked pros who endure extreme hardships—Aoki for his bizarre "frog" fighting style and Kimura for agonizing weight cuts. They provide the gym's core humor. Manabu Itagaki: The talented, speed-focused prodigy. He is flashy, highly confident, and deeply looks up to Ippo. Genji Kamogawa: The founder and head coach. He is a strict, old-school, no-nonsense mentor who demands absolute discipline and tough-love.Together, they balance grueling, hellish training sessions with hilarious, constant locker-room pranks and unwavering loyalty to one another.
