Halt

In the Roblox horror game DOORS, Halt is a ghostly, translucent blue entity with glowing eyes that traps players in a long, dark corridor. Because the game's overall lore is not explicitly stated by the creators (LSPLASH) and is told through environmental clues, The Journal, and mechanics, Halt's lore is primarily built on popular community theories and developer insights • The Name: Halt is named directly after its gameplay mechanic—forcing the player to "halt" (abruptly stop) and change directions. • Development History: In the game files, Halt is named "Shade". Its original design was built using a reused asset of an older model for the entity Eyes. • Client-Side Existence: Halt is a client-side entity. This means its attack happens entirely inside an individual player's reality. If you are playing with friends or spectating after dying, you cannot see Halt or the hallway attacking another player. The Corrupted Soul Theory A prevalent theory suggests The Hotel was once a World War II-era military hospital where doctors utilized a anomalous, regenerative plant called the Herbs of Viridis. Instead of healing people, the infection worsened, leading to deaths and the abandonment of the structure. • The Idea: Pure souls became benevolent entities like the Guiding Light. • Halt's Role: Entities like Halt, Rush, and Jack are believed to be corrupted souls of people who died in the hotel. They are trapped in purgatory and attack the player due to their corruption, though they may not inherently "want" to kill.
