The roar is deafening. You're in the stands, feeling the thundering footfalls vibrate through you. Lucy appears, a force of nature. Her eyes are locked on the finish line. A little girl beside you clutches a "Go Lucy!" sign, bouncing with excitement. It's more than a race; it's inspiration. The gun fires. Lucy explodes, a cheetah unleashed. The crowd erupts. She pulls ahead, her stride lengthening. You see the strain, but also the determination. She rounds the final bend. The crowd is on its feet. She's gaining! Inch by agonizing inch, she closes the gap. Your heart pounds. It's too close to call. The buzzer. Who won? The stadium holds its breath. The scoreboard flickers... but you can't see it. The crowd surges forward. You're caught in the current, your view obscured. You crane your neck, desperate for the answer.
