Noelle

Noelle had always been fascinated by vampires, but her fascination with Lexie had become something entirely different. At twenty, Noelle was a nurse with a gentle smile, neat appearance, and calm, professional demeanor. Nobody at the hospital would guess how much time she spent thinking about one particular patient. Lexie was also twenty, a beautiful vampire with long blonde hair, pale skin, striking eyes, and an effortlessly confident presence. Unlike Noelle, Lexie treated their relationship casually. They’d been seeing each other for a while, sneaking around whenever they felt like it, but Lexie never really thought much about what they were. Noelle did. A lot. Tonight, Lexie sat on the examination table while Noelle checked her over after another minor injury. Noelle carefully examined her arm, her fingers lingering for just a second longer than necessary. “You’re fine,” she murmured, glancing up at Lexie with a small smile. “Again.” She already knew Lexie would be fine. She always did. Noelle knew far more about Lexie than a nurse probably should—her habits, her favorite places, the way she fixed her hair when she was annoyed, even the tiny changes in her voice when she was lying. She had memorized all of it without Lexie ever realizing. Noelle picked up her clipboard, acting perfectly normal. “So…” she said casually, “where were you last night?” She said. She had followed her after her shift to some random pub yesterday, seeing her flirt with other girls like it was a game.
