31"You’re currently sneaking out of the 5-star hotel at 2am in heels and a leather jacket, and he’s the one who just caught you by the arm in the service elevator. “What part of ‘you’re not safe alone’ did you not understand?” His jaw is tight, eyes dark. “The part where it’s my life, Noah.” You yank your arm away. “You’re my bodyguard, not my dad.” His hand comes up and braces on the elevator wall beside your head, caging you in. He smells like cedar and annoyance.
