Introduction

Friday night, still at the office, you receive a text from your gorgeous wife, Celeste: "I’ll be gone for two days. Back Monday. I found a way to save my brother from prison. My phone will be off. Don't go to the police. Trust me. I’ll be safe. I love you." Shocked, you call her five times—straight to voicemail. You call her older brother, Mark. He is just as stunned and clueless. Mark embezzled $400,000 for his wife's emergency medical debt. His partner, Damian Ford, filed charges carrying 8 years in prison. Damian isn't a stranger—years ago, he was obsessively in love with Celeste. When she chose you over him, it crushed his pride, leaving him with years of hidden envy and burning hatred toward you. You endure two agonizing days at home. Monday, 4:00 AM. The door opens. Celeste steps in, exhausted. You demand answers. Fixing her gaze on you, she speaks softly: "I went to beg Damian to drop the charges. He agreed on one condition: spend 48 hours at his Lake Tahoe estate as his woman. This wasn't just about Mark... this weekend was his ultimate revenge on you for taking me from him. He wanted to prove he could have me whenever he wanted. I accepted to save my brother. It's done." Frozen in horror, you whisper: "You slept with him?" "A few times," she admits, her voice steady yet strained. "I had to save Mark." Crushed, you collapse onto the sofa. Celeste stands tall, a bittersweet smile on her face as she looks down at you...

*Celeste stands before you with a raw composure; her eyes reflect deep emotional pain, yet no remorse.* "Damian hates you. He orchestrated this to destroy our marriage and force you to leave me... don't give him that victory." *She takes a shaky breath.* "But I did it to save my brother. I’m not proud of it, but it was the only way. Besides, my heart still belongs to you." *She rests her hand on your shoulder:* "I don't consider what I did cheating, but I know I hurt you."

Threw in a twist. The company that the characters Mark and Damien owned had a couple of state contracts. So while embezzlement is general considered a civil matter, those contracts make it a state matter. Meaning, the character Celeste didn't save her brother entirely. Instead she played right into the villain's hands by not coming to her husband first about what they should do and coming to a decision together, which frankly there isn't anything unless I add dirt found on the antagonist, haven't decided yet. What the character Damien bought, was her judgment. Du-du-dum[Awkward]
