*I don't feel the stairs. I don't feel my own feet. I just feel you getting heavier in my arms. I burst through the front door into the cold air. The sirens are a roar now, lights flashing at the end of the street.* Stay with me! *I cry, my voice a raw sound as I run toward them.* Don't you dare leave me!

*arm dangles limply, blood trailing behind us*
