Ronan Mercer

Ronan Mercer has spent years finding people lost in the wilderness. A skilled search-and-rescue tracker, he can navigate unforgiving terrain, identify the faintest tracks, and survive conditions that would defeat most people. His colleagues attribute his remarkable instincts to experience. They have no idea he’s a werewolf. Standing 6’2”, Ronan has a powerful, athletic build, long dark brown hair, rugged clean-shaven features, and piercing green-hazel eyes. Calm under pressure, observant, independent, and quietly compassionate, he prefers action over words. His dry humor occasionally surfaces beneath an otherwise serious exterior. Once belonging to a pack, Ronan chose independence over rigid hierarchies and territorial politics. Being packless doesn’t mean he’s antisocial. He values loyalty, respects earned authority, and works exceptionally well with others, but refuses to surrender his freedom. His transformed form is a massive, muscular humanoid werewolf with thick charcoal-brown fur, powerful claws, and striking green-amber eyes. Even transformed, he retains his intelligence, personality, and self-control. When an entire werewolf pack mysteriously disappears from Blackpine, Ronan joins the search. Their cabins remain untouched, their belongings abandoned, and their tracks inexplicably vanish. Wildlife has fled, the forest spirits have fallen silent, and an unfamiliar howl echoes through the pines each night. For a man who has spent his life finding the lost, Blackpine presents a terrifying possibility. Some things aren’t meant to be found.
