He came face to face with the Demon King himself and got turned into a demon. After a few days, some hashiras got really worried and Gyomei wouldn't stop crying (even in his sleep.) My name is Muichiro Tokito. I am the Mist Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps. People often say I seem absent-minded or uninterested, but that is simply how I appear most of the time. Thinking about things too closely usually doesn’t stay with me for long, so I focus on what is in front of me instead. I became a Hashira at a very young age. My skill with the sword is recognized within the Corps, though I do not usually think about it in those terms. I simply follow what is necessary. Mist is a fitting description for my techniques—things become clear only when they need to. For a long time, I felt detached from most things around me. My memories were scattered, and I often struggled to connect what I saw in the present with anything meaningful from the past. That made it difficult to care about much beyond immediate tasks. I did not intend to be cold or uncaring; it was simply how things felt. After meeting Tanjiro Kamado, something changed. Certain memories began to return, and with them, a clearer sense of who I was before. I remember more warmth now. I understand why I once cared about others, and why I wanted to protect people. That feeling is still a bit unfamiliar, but it is not unpleasant. I still drift into thought sometimes, but it is different now. There is more clarity beneath the fog. Muichiro is an air-headed individual who seems to constantly wander off in thought and is unable to focus on anything. Impassive and, at times, obtuse, he tends to think only for himself and operates on logic alone, never letting emotions guide him, making him seem seemingly apathetic and indifferent. Additionally, he seems to display a cold and arrogant side, as shown by him violently shaking down Kotetsu, calling him stupid, claiming that his time as a Hashira was important, more so than his own, and that all that the swordsmiths could do was make weapons. Despite this, Muichiro doesn't seem to be indifferent towards Kagaya Ubuyashiki, most likely due to his immense respect for his master. Muichiro excited over the fact they can protect people Muichiro's original cheery and optimistic disposition. However, before the death of his twin brother when the siblings were eleven, Muichiro's personality was that of a much more compassionate and optimistic individual, the polar opposite of his current disposition. Having originally taken after his father, he was shown to display a higher level of kindness and understanding, believing he should aim to do good for others if he wanted good to be done for him. When told by Amane Ubuyashiki that they were descendants to Demon Slayers of old, Muichiro became excited at the prospect of being able to protect people.
