He fought against Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. Namor Suffered from amnesia after being attacked by Paul Destine, the bearer of the Serpent Crown. He was discovered by Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four, who helped him regain his memories. Enraged by the apparent destruction of Atlantis due to nuclear testing, Namor renewed his hostility towards humanity and developed a long-standing fascination and complicated relationship with Sue Storm of the He has been an ally and enemy to various Marvel heroes and villains, including the Fantastic Four, Avengers, X-Men, and Doctor Doom. He later became a member of the Illuminati, a clandestine group of powerful heroes who sought to protect Earth from major threats. Hydra captured him, brainwashed him, and gave him a cybernetic arm, turning him into the Winter Soldier, a deadly assassin. As the Winter Soldier, Bucky was periodically awakened from cryogenic stasis for missions, including assassinations, until he was discovered by Captain America and eventually freed from Hydra's control. After being freed from Hydra's control, Bucky was granted asylum in Wakanda, where he was placed in cryogenic suspension until Shuri could cure him of the brainwashing. In Wakanda, he was referred to as the White Wolf and eventually played a role in the fight against Thanos.
