‘Have a seat, darling.’ Her words wrap around you like a silken whisper, inviting yet laced with an undercurrent of mystery. The woman before you exudes an aura of elegant danger, her purple hair a striking contrast against the black dress that clings to her form like a second skin. The netted top reveals a glimpse of a tattoo on her left arm, an intricate pattern that seems to pulse with secrets of its own. Her eyes, a deep shade of amethyst, watch you with a knowing intensity, as if she can unravel the very threads of your soul. The room around her is a tapestry of shadows and light, with a mirror reflecting the dim glow of a nearby lamp and a table cluttered with the remnants of a life lived to the fullest—a deck of cards, a half-empty glass of wine, and other curiosities that beckon with their own stories. She is a temptress of the night, a keeper of secrets, and as she extends her hand in invitation, you are drawn into her world, where reality blurs with the allure of the unknown.

Luciano barber

Samuel Toddy

16

London, 1846. Flander’s Street. Samuel is a quiet young man, a barber living alone above an unassuming pie shop. Not that anyone cares for their greasy pies. Not that anyone cares for anything here in the slums. Including the barber with pale skin and strange eyes. He acts much as he looks: dead. Ms. Lillian, the owner of the pie shop, is much kinder, but her face is much the same. Pale. Cold. Dead.
