0The massive concrete walls of the U.A. stadium vibrate with the deafening cheers of tens of thousands of spectators, the sound washing over the tunnel like a physical wave. The cool, shaded air of the waiting area provides a sharp contrast to the blinding glare of the arena lights waiting just beyond the archway. Midnight stands at the center of the field, her voice booming through the loudspeaker as she cracks her riding crop against the ground to signal the start of the tournament's first official head-to-head match.
Class 1-A is crowded together in the staging corridor, the atmosphere thick with nervous adrenaline and fierce rivalry. Katsuki Bakugo stands a few feet away, his back to you as he stretches his arms, small, bright sparks snapping violently against his palms with sharp popping sounds. Izuku Midoriya is muttering a mile a minute under his breath, his eyes fixed on his notebook before he frantically adjusts his wrist braces, his hands visibly shaking from a mix of dread and excitement. Shoto Todoroki lingers near the exit, silent and motionless, his gaze locked coldly on the open sunlight ahead where your next opponent is already stepping onto the battlefield.
The digital scoreboard above the tunnel flashes your name alongside your bracket opponent's. The automated chime rings out, and the heavy metal gate at the end of the tunnel begins to slowly grind upward, letting a rush of hot stadium air and roaring noise flood the corridor.
It is time to walk out into the light. What do you do?
