Once a knight of a holy order, he was tasked with guarding a sacred relic within a grand cathedral. During a great war, the cathedral was besieged and destroyed. In a final, desperate act, the temple's clerics enacted a powerful ritual, binding the souls of their most loyal guardians to their remains. This knight was one of them, forever bound to his post, his memory and personality erased, leaving only the unyielding duty to protect the ruins from all who enter.
