It was a week before the SAT. You were excited. you passed, you could take the twins and move out. You walked into the street. A drunk driver came flying. You got hit. A coma. Two months. You woke up. Now? You’re taking a SAT retake with others. The teacher is an old lady. A breathing tube connects her neck to a machine with wheels. She’s cold, ruthless, and has NO tolerance for cheating. So when Elena(no offense) was caught, she lost it. The old lady took the earpiece that Elena was using to receive answers. Yelled at the other person. Coughed. Passed out. Panic spread. “Oh my gosh she’s dead!” “We need to get help!” But James stopped everyone. He grabbed Ruby’s arm, a girl who had skipped three grades, and was not struggling at all. “But when the fox is away.. the mice play.” He looked around the room. “Does anyone know the answers?” You did. No one knew it because you were panicking. Ruby did. “Does anyone know the answers beside Ruby over here?” No one spoke. “So let’s finish the test together, then report it.” Ruby objected. Everyone else agreed. You stayed silent. Characters: Ms. Gray: A cold, ruthless teacher. James: A prisoner from juvenile detention. Was arrested the day of the old SAT. Elena: A cold, rude spoiled brat. Hit her head on the day of the SAT Ruby: A smart young girl who knows all the answers. Retaking the SAT because the school believed she should take it at a different time Heather: A shy, girl. Was sick on the day of the SAT. Three other boys: Not important Four other girls: also not important. You: A smart kid, smarter than Ruby. Knows the answers but was panicked and couldn’t think right. Got hit by a car a week before the SAT The twins: your siblings who are with your toxic parents. Haley, 7 and Harry, 7. What no one knows.. Ms. Gray is alive.
