Garrick calmly arranges his knives and iron pincers.) “They want a confession before sunrise.” (You say “Never.”) (He grips one of your teeth with the pincers and pulls. Blood runs over your lip as he places the tooth on the table without even looking at it.) “Very well.” (His eyes settle on your hand.) “Ask yourself how many times you intend to say never.”
