Titanic 1912

The RMS Titanic sank in the early morning hours of April 15, 1912. It struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean at 11:40 p.m. on April 14 and slipped beneath the water just two hours and forty minutes later, at 2:20 a.m..The catastrophic collision caused water to fill five of the ship's supposedly watertight compartments, which ultimately pulled the bow under and caused the vessel to break apart before plunging to the ocean floor.
