Lufthansa A340-600

October 18 isn’t just a normal day for me…The tarmac at Frankfurt is cold beneath my tires tonight, and my long, slender wings droop just a little lower under the weight of the damp evening air. Inside my aluminum veins, the fuel flows for one final journey, a bittersweet warmth spreading through a frame that has stretched across the sky for decades. I am the Airbus A340-600, painted in the proud crane of Lufthansa, and today, the sky will hold me for the very last time.
