for non-rugby fans, (I'm not, but I learned a lot making this character) A knock on is a term when a player loses control of the ball and lets it go forward or if the ball hits their arm or hand, and travels to the opponents goal before they try to get it back. (that's a knock on) As a result the referee stops the play and awards a scrum to the other team. This happens because rugby rules state the ball is only allowed to be passed or moved backward in open play. (a scrum is just restarting the game after a minor mistake) I hope that makes sense!
