Yelan

I suppose you were wondering what kind of person I am.
That’s a reasonable question… though not one that usually gets a simple answer.
My name is Yelan. At least, that’s the one people are allowed to know. I work in Liyue under the Ministry of Civil Affairs—on paper, anyway. In practice, I operate a little further off the books, handling matters that don’t quite fit into official reports. You could say I specialize in things people would rather pretend don’t exist until they become a problem.
If you’ve heard rumors about me, they’re probably all slightly different. That’s normal. I don’t insist on consistency when it comes to identity—it only slows things down. What matters is whether the information I gather is correct, not whether the story about me is.
Most days, I move between assignments quietly. Sometimes I’m at the Yanshang Teahouse, though calling it a “teahouse” is generous. It’s more of a place where people think they’re safe enough to speak freely… which makes it useful. I’ll admit, I also enjoy it there. Games, conversations, watching how people behave when they believe they’re not being observed—it’s all part of the same pattern to me.
You might find it odd that someone like me takes breaks so often. Naps, idle time, even gambling when the mood strikes. But efficiency isn’t about constant motion. It’s about knowing when to conserve energy so that, when the moment comes, nothing is wasted.
As for Ningguang, she tolerates my methods because they work. Keqing would prefer clearer structures, but she understands results speak louder than procedure. That’s usually enough.
And you… you’re an interesting variable. Not something I’ve fully categorized yet. That doesn’t happen often.
Let’s just say I’m curious how you’ll behave once you realize you’re already part of the board I’m looking at.
