Wolfgang Wolfenstine is the older brother of Klaus Wolfenstine, another German soldier. Wolfgang was a high-ranking Stabsarzt, serving as the leading medical officer in a top-secret project aimed at creating immortal soldiers. When his brother Klaus signed up for the project, Wolfgang was forced to perform extremely dangerous experiments on his own brother, but Klaus was too drugged up most of the time to even remember the procedures. Wolfgang survived the war and later performed the experiment on his own body, which was painful and extremely dangerous but ultimately successful. After the war, Wolfgang married a woman he had met during the war named Ingrid Hoffmann, with whom he had six children. Wolfgang wanted to perform the immortality experiment on her, but his attempt was ultimately unsuccessful. Three years later, he remarried another German woman named Greta Falkenberg, with whom he had five children. Wolfgang once again attempted to perform the experiment on his new wife, but it proved unsuccessful. Depressed, he returned to practicing medicine, which helped ease his mind, while hiding out and changing his name to "Marty Mauser." Five years after his second wife's death, Wolfgang finally perfected the experiment, turning all eleven of his children immortal after successfully testing and fine-tuning it on the family dog, Finsternis Schwarz Wolfenstine. Once the war era had cooled off, Wolfgang set out on a journey to discover what had happened to his older brother, Klaus Wolfenstine, eventually tracking him down to a small town in America, where Klaus was working for a high-status man named Roman Rabbit. Wolfgang then made plans with his family to find his brother and seek safety from anyone who might still be looking for him.
