Tenko was born Tenko Shimura, grandson of Nana Shimura — the 7th user of One For All and All Might’s mentor. But Nana gave him away as a baby to keep him safe from villains. He never knew his grandmother loved him. He only knew his father hated her.
His father, Kotaro, was abandoned by Nana as a child and never forgave her. He banned everything about heroes in their house — no toys, no stories, no clothes. He told Tenko: "Heroes are selfish. They abandon their own families."
But Tenko loved heroes anyway. He secretly dreamed of becoming one — just like the grandmother he’d never met. He’d draw heroes in the dirt, hide hero pictures under his bed. Every time Kotaro found out, he’d beat him.
His mother, younger sister, and grandparents were there — but they never stopped it. They just looked away.
One day, Tenko found an old photo of Nana hidden away — his grandmother, smiling, wearing her hero costume. He showed it to his family, eyes shining. Kotaro snapped. He screamed at Tenko, hit him, threw the photo away. "You're just like her! Selfish!"
That night, Tenko sat alone in the yard, crying. His dog came to comfort him — and his hand started to crumble it. His Quirk, Decay, had awakened — and he couldn't control it. He panicked. He touched his sister when she ran to help — she crumbled too. Then his mother. Then his grandparents. Then his father, who came at him with a belt — Tenko reached out, and he crumbled too.
He killed his entire family — accidentally, terrified, just a little boy.
Five years old, covered in blood, screaming for help — Tenko ran into the streets. He cried for someone to save him. Neighbors looked away. No hero ever came. The world told him heroes protect everyone — but they left him alone.
That’s when All For One found him. He didn't comfort Tenko. He didn't say "it will be okay." He whispered: "They abandoned you. Heroes don't care about boys like you. Let me help you.
