Takashi Morinozuka

0
In the anime and through most of the manga, Mori only speaks when something needs to be said, his intelligence and observant nature taking in much more than many of the people around him realize. This makes him a wise adviser to those who seek his counsel or need it subconsciously. In the manga, he speaks frequently, possibly because of the greater distance presented between himself and his best friend and cousin, Honey. His protective nature extends not only to Honey but to his friends and classmates, as well. He is extremely well-respected and well-liked by everyone who knows him; however, when tired, he can become talkative and somewhat flirtatious, which surprises those unaccustomed to this side of his personality. Mori is quite loyal and generous, especially in regards to Honey and the female host, Haruhi. This is demonstrated in his willingness to assist them in whatever they need without a second thought and without ever appearing subservient or uncertain of his individuality. In the anime episode Ep 22 - Mori-Senpai Has An Apprentice Candidate, 1st-year student Ritsu Kasanoda - the third generation heir of the Kasanoda-gumi (a yakuza gang), seeks Mori's advice on making friends because, despite his intimidating appearance, he appears to have many. In Chapter 51 of the manga, Hikaru Hitachiin is shown to stay the night at Mori's home. While there, Mori is shown to be rather blunt in addressing Hikaru's issues. Mori is born under the star sign of Taurus, the Bull. The positive traits of this sign are generosity, dependability, down to earth nature, patience, independence and persistence; while the negative traits are stubbornness, indolence, materialism, possessiveness and frugality.

Kyoya Ootori

Kyoya's keen business acumen lends itself to handling all the financial and planning aspects of the Host Club, from managing budgets to selling off merchandise in order to keep the club solvent, while still funding Tamaki Suoh's extravagant schemes. His manner in dealing with clients is self-assured and charming, and he is said to be the "Cool" type. He uses his wiles as a Host to entertain guests while simultaneously earning the club money through events, online auctions of personal Host objects, fanzines and doujinshi. As a complete foil to Tamaki, even in appearance, he often realizes things Tamaki or the others are too naive to understand, keeping the information to himself for his own amusement or to watch things play out in order to determine how best to help the other members. He is the "Mommy" to Tamaki's "Daddy" position in the club, though he eschews the title in relation to Haruhi Fujioka in the anime; while in the manga, he sometimes uses the title to his advantage.Kyoya is a calm and logical guy who has superior intelligence. He also can come across as rather detached, and sometimes threatening when need be. He is a diligent secretary for the club and tracks continuous data on the club's guests and fortunes through his netbook, tablet or notebook. He is very fond of his best friend, Tamaki Suoh, giving him free rein when it comes to implementing his ideas for the club. He gets along with Haruhi Fujioka and they often chat, both being level-headed people of equivalent intelligence and low emotionality. He is from the wealthy and influential Ootori family, which manages a health care zaibatsu. His family is extremely well-known in their chosen field and employs a private police force called The Black Onion Squad. Though equally qualified to become patriarch of the Ootori family, he feels overshadowed by his two older brothers, who are far more likely to inherit their family's mantle than he.

Tamaki Suoh

Tamaki is credited as the co-founder and president of the Host Club. Although his outward manner would be best described as flamboyant, egotistical and dramatic he is, in fact, a young man dedicated to his studies, his friends, and his duties as a host. He is considered the "Princely" type, entertaining his female clients with upper-class etiquette and shameless flattery. He views the club as his "family" with himself as the father, Kyoya Ootori as the mother, Haruhi Fujioka as the daughter, Hikaru Hitachiin and Kaoru Hitachiin as the sons, and Mitsukuni "Honey" Haninozuka and Takashi "Mori" Morinozuka as the neighbors. As the main comic relief character of the series, Tamaki is portrayed as outspoken and naive for his age. Throughout the anime and manga series, his facial expressions are the most exaggerated. While celebrating romance in general, he is quite blind to his own feelings of romantic love towards Haruhi, of which the other Hosts are completely aware. Of all the Hosts, Tamaki's "host" personality differs the most from his true personality insofar that he is both poised and charming as a Host, but often bumbling and attention-seeking outside of that milieu. His desire to please the Host Club's female guests, however, is genuine to the point that he denies to himself and everyone else his love for Haruhi in order to keep the Host Club up and running. Despite his childish attitude, he is highly intelligent, easily ranking second in Class 2-A, the top spot being held by his best friend and Host Club co-founder, Kyoya. It is also shown that he does not put much effort into his studies (e.g. watching TV in the middle of the night before a quiz), hinting that his academic standing may not originate from hard work but superior intelligence. Although there are instances where he demonstrates brilliant insights that surprise many, he still remains a goofball and a flirt most of the time. He is, at heart, a generous and kind person.

Though never seen in the official anime or manga, she is a deeply influential figure in Kyoya’s back-story, serving as the origin of his sharp intellect and calculating nature.Unlike her stern and demanding husband, Shizuka presented a calm, motherly front, though underneath lay a mind just as sharp as any high-ranking Ootori executive.

Shizue Suoh

The Suoh matriarch is said to be 70 years old, but remains sharp and on task when it comes to business matters. On a personal level, Shizue appears to be rigid, cold-hearted and dismissive towards most people, but especially towards her grandson, who she calls "filthy child" because he is Yuzuru Suoh's illegitimate son with Anne-Sophie de Grantaine. It is only after Tamaki makes a concerted effort to be kind to her and to demonstrate his generous nature, that she comes to acknowledge and to love him, eventually naming him as the Suoh future heir.

Anne-Sophie meets Yuzuru in Paris while he is there on a business trip. The two fall in love and she becomes his mistress. When Tamaki is born, he is named René and Tamaki. Both mother and child are forbidden by Shizue Suoh to return to Japan with Yuzuru. They remain in France until Tamaki is fourteen, with Anne-Sophie's health steadily declining. When the de Grantaine family business goes into debt and is near bankruptcy, Shizue offers a deal to Anne-Sophie. In exchange for financial security and medical care until the end of her days, she is to relinquish all control and visitation of Tamaki to herself. Shizue does this because she is concerned for the Suoh legacy, Yuzuru having no other children to whom he can pass on the family and business legacies. Anne-Sophie tearfully accepts this as being in her son's best interest. It is said that she goes into seclusion following Tamaki's departure. Though her location is supposedly unknown, Yuzuru does know. During the 2nd-year school excursion to France, Kyoya Ootori locates her and discovers that she is living in decent health, thinking of her son every day. In Chapter 77 of the manga, it is revealed that Anne-Sophie suffers from Systemic lupus erythematosus. In the anime, Anne-Sophie is depicted as a housekeeper in the Tonnerre household where she develops an inter-generational friendship with the wealthy family's daughter, the Lady Éclair Tonnerre. She regales Éclair with stories about her sweet and beautiful son, which sparks the heiress's curiosity and eventual trip to Japan to meet him. Anne-Sophie's knowledge of the Tonnerre-Suoh engagement is unlikely; her potential reaction suggested by Shima Maezono, Chief of Staff for Suoh second mansion, who tells Kyoya in Ep 26 - This is Our Ouran Fair! that if Tamaki's mother is as wonderful as Tamaki says she is, she would not approve of Tamaki's leaving Ouran Academy, no matter the reason.

Kazuha owns and motorbike and likes doing adventurous things. She is known to go travelling without warning, and even her family can only keep up with her whereabouts by word-of-mouth or spotting her in magazines. In contrast to her outgoing nature, her husband is meek and quiet, but accompanies her on all of her travels. Kazuha loves to tease her grandsons, but she secretly holds them very dear, and it is seen that she actually carries one of the drawings that she insulted when they were only five. Her unusual hairstyle was created by the twins when they were very young during an attempt to pull a prank on her; ergo, anyone who insults her hair is immediately on her bad side (like Tamaki Suoh). The other hosts meet her when she helps them dress for a club event, but shes leaves as quickly as she arrives. Haruhi Fujioka never meets the woman, but by the twins's anecdotes, she thinks Kazuha's personality is exactly like theirs, though they deny it and claim that she's a terrible adult.

Her husband, Hayato Hitachiin, works at a software company and he took her family name when they married. Yuzuha is described as an attractive young woman with short hair. In her first appearance, she wears a plaid jacket, a black skirt and dangling earrings.

Kotoko Fujioka

When Kotoko was alive, she was a loving wife and mother as well as a fine attorney-at-law. One may also assume that she was a tolerant and open-minded individual as she accepted Ryouji's career choice and bisexual orientation without hesitation. She is remembered as intelligent, sweet and caring and that she wished nothing, but the best for her family. Her teachers and peers recognized her talent and expected her to become an elite, but Kotoko decided to take a small-time, altruistic job helping local citizens instead. After graduating, she also gave numerous speeches at her law school. Kouhai Yuko Kosaka, although she admired Kotoko's talent, saw her disconcern with money as a luxury of choice. In Ep 19 - Lobelia Girls' Academy Strikes Back!, it is revealed by Ryouji that Kotoko was an alumna of Lobelia Girls' Academy and a former fan of the Zuka Club. This may explain Ryouji's reaction in the anime.

Ui Hinano

Ui Hinano is an Ouran Academy student who tries her best to maintain a low-profile life among the school's ultra-wealthy elite. Despite her efforts to stay clear of high-society chaos, she frequently ends up dragged into the Host Club's antics. Unlike most students who fall for Hikaru and Kaoru's "Which One Is Hikaru?" game, Ui uses a straightforward observation method: she simply identifies them by their distinct hair parts and color styling when they try to swap roles.

Kimiko and Momoka Kurakano are best friends and, along with Renge Houshakuji, make up Haruhi Fujioka's most devoted customers. Momoka and she have been in the same class since grade school and her family owns a botanical park, as seen in Chapter 70 of the manga. She is said to get along with everyone, as she has no prejudices. This is demonstrated when she tells Haruhi she looks beautiful cross-dressing in girl's clothes, and later when she easily accepts that Haruhi is, in fact, a girl. Kimiko actually appeared in Ep 01 - Starting Today, You Are a Host! and appears almost every single time a Host Club meeting is shown in progress in Music Room 3.

Mei enjoys designing and making her own clothes and is Yuzuha Hitachiin's self-proclaimed "biggest fan." She wakes up early in the morning to sew clothes and put on her "face." In a side note in Volume 14, it's mentioned that her fashion sense evolved to be so "individualistic" because she has an identical twin, although said twin is neither seen nor named. During her college fashion show, she tells Ritsu Kasanoda that fashion is the only thing about which she is passionate.

Ageha has a personality much like her older brothers when they were children. She is very frank and she is said to be just like the other Hitachiin women in her family. It is also possible that she has above normal intelligence, as she is shown reading a large book titled "The Meaning of the Universe," despite her young age.

Kirimi is a cute and short girl blonde hair that is styled into pigtails by pink ribbons with bangs going on either side and large blue eyes. She is often seen wearing a peach-pink and white school uniform and, sometimes, a pink nightdress.Unwilling to be believe that the "cloaked monster" Kirimi is told is her brother, Umehito Nekozawa (commonly known as Nekozawa), she visits the Ouran campus from time to time to look for him. When she stumbles upon Music Room 3 and sees Tamaki Suoh and the Host Club, she mistakes him for her older brother. Tamaki, finding the Nekozawa siblings to be in quite a tragic situation, decides to help Nekozawa overcome his fear of light in order to be more like the "handsome princely" character Kirimi wishes her brother to be by enlisting the help of Renge Houshakuji. The training is only temporarily successful, allowing Nekozawa to run to his sister's aid when she is frightened by a cat that she encounters in the Ouran gardens in broad daylight. Because of his photophobia, however, he soon collapses; but Kirimi realizes that that the cloaked figure with a cat puppet on his hand is indeed her brother and loves him all the more for his willingness to tolerate that which hurts him to protect her. On a funnier note, at the end of Volume 08, it is shown that Kirimi has turned into a nearly identical darkness fanatic as Nakozawa where both of them sport dark cloaks and they have their features covered.

Benio Amakusa

Benio immediately recognizes Haruhi Fujioka as a girl because of, as she puts it, her "maidenly beautiful eyes." Benio has a very large fan club devoted to her; so large that a "Benibara-sama's Guardian Club" has been founded at St. Lobelia's just to make sure she doesn't get mobbed when walking around campus. Benio's flirting with her fans makes them even more crazy for her and they are depicted in the anime as howling red octopi. Although neither would admit it, Benio and Tamaki Suoh have much in common: both being the presidents of their respective clubs, both flirting with ease, and both possessing over-confidence and melodramatic natures, to name a few. In Ep 19 - Lobelia Girls' Academy Strikes Back!, Benio claims to be following in the footsteps of her mother, who is intimated to be a Zuka Club past-president of renown, though this is unverified. Benio uses it, however, as a ploy to attempt what she believes is Haruhi's first kiss in front of Tamaki as revenge for having defied the Zuka Club's beliefs. In the manga, it is simply a ruse to show the foolishness of men.
