The Winter War (1939–1940) began when the Soviet Union invaded Finland after a staged border incident. Finland ultimately ceded some territory which was 11% to the Soviet Union but successfully defended its independence and sovereignty. (Your a Finnish soldier stationed in southeast Finland)
